Sandy has been playing fiddle from the age of 16. He has won a number of competitions for both performance and composition. In the 1980s he performed with the "An Teallach" ceilidh band, travelling several times to Ireland and to the Tonder Folk and Blues Festival in Denmark. He has performed at many festivals, sessions and ceilidhs. Sandy is a founder member and resident tutor with Falkirk Fiddle Workshop. In addition he is a tutor with Falkirk Council's Youth Music Initiative, helping to ensure that there is plenty of fresh talent to stock the next generation of ceilidh bands.Sandy Harvey
