We have used the Skelpit Lug Ceilidh Band for a
number of years now for our annual Ceilidh (most recently at the Albert
Halls, Stirling, in March 2008) and we can only sing their praises. With an extraordinary range of dances as
well as some of their own specialities such as the Toblerone Jig, they keep
everyone of all ages on their toes all night! We look forward to having them perform for us again next
year. Niall Williamson, Assistant Chair of Stirling Canoe
Club, 21st April 2008. "The Skelpit Lug Ceilidh Band not
only added something special to our University Ball (22 March 2008), they
made the evening. The music was second to none and they led every dance
professionally, in an incredibly fun manner. Despite the fact the dance
floor was small, every dance saw even the surrounding area being used as
people had such a good time. The Lugs were professional and friendly from the
start and I have recommended them to several other university societies for
future events. They offered me a few options regarding band size and
instruments, and I am totally satisfied with what we received. Definitely not
a band to be overlooked." Stacey McWilliams, St Andrews University, 16th
April 2008 "Please pass on a big thank you to the Skelpit Lug
Ceilidh Band who played at our charity ceilidh in aid of the Bannockburn
Riding for the Disabled on 29th February at Stirling's Albert
Halls. What a fantastic event ! There was a really great atmosphere and
the dance floor was full for every dance.
We've been receiving lots of comments from people saying how much they
enjoyed themselves. It's the first
time we've hosted a ceilidh, but I'm sure we will be repeating this event
! Thank You ! Lucy Fraser, Trustee, Bannockburn Riding for the
Disabled 3rd March 2008

" Now we have settled back in Dubai
we just wanted to thank you for playing at our wedding at Huntingtower Hotel
Perth on 26th January. We thoroughly
enjoyed the whole day and you helped make the evening reception a very
memorable occasion. Your enthusiasm was infectious and created an atmosphere
that was second to none. The music, dances and novelty dances set the
appropriate tone and made it easy for everybody to enjoy
themselves. We look forward to the
next occasion, when we will have the pleasure of hearing you play once
again." Katrina and John Piperias
9th February 2008 "Just a wee note to say thank you so much for
playing at Katrina and John's wedding on Saturday (at the Huntingtower Hotel,
Perth). We all had a brilliant time
and everyone has been commenting on how good the band were and how everyone
joined in and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, particularly the fun reels
! Many thanks again, and we will
certainly keep your details on file for future events." Kirsty Colthart, 28th January 2008 |

"We wanted to write and thank the Skelpit Lugs
for the fantastic ceilidh music which you played for us at Glenlivet House on
26th October (2007). The band really got people dancing and
everyone commented on how great you were.
Despite limited space we managed a wide range of dances, which were
well called and had everyone generally going in the right direction ! We very much enjoyed the solo singing
during the buffet and breaks. Thanks for working so well to complete a truly
memorable evening for our Silver Wedding.
We shall be recommending you to anyone planning a ceilidh." Sally and Phil Jewson, Leighton Buzzard, 7th

"Just a quick email to say thanks very much
for your tolerance and excellent playing at Tess and Mark's wedding last
Friday at Houston House. We've been
receiving a number of 'thank you' cards ourselves this week, in which the
ceilidh is mentioned frequently and was obviously a highlight of the evening
for many !" Trish Santer, 14th September 2007 |

"Just a quick email before we go off on our
honeymoon early tomorrow morning. I
just wanted to thank you and the rest of the band for helping to make our
night at the Gleneagles Hotel very special.
Everyone loved the Ceilidh which showed by the fact that the floor was
full for every dance ! Many thanks. Rob and Laura Wallace

"Skelpit Lug has made several
visits to play for us and other events in Cyprus. They are an
excellent band but they are also excellent people and have become friends
whom we hope to have back again in the future." |

"If you are looking for a
ceilidh band that plays excellent music and that encourages the company to
join in the dancing then Skelpit Lug is the ideal band. They will not
only have you dancing to the traditional standards but also to some great
dances of their own. They have played for us on numerous occasions such
as Burns Nights, School Proms, and Christmas dances and they are always
excellent. Pupils, staff, parents and friends all agree that the
Skelpit Lugs are the ideal choice for a successful and enjoyable
evening." Linda Horsburgh, Headteacher, Wallace High School (Stirling) 16th May 2007 |

"We arranged for the Skelpit Lugs to play at our wedding in
France. Words cannot fully express just how much the Skelpit
Lugs contributed to our day. It goes without saying that they are
brilliant musicians, truly professional and genuinely great guys
too. As well as making the long trip to France, they went far
beyond what most bands would offer. Our guests, without exception,
thought that it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. The Lugs got
everyone up and dancing, always ensuring that everyone understood
the dances and had a fantastic time. We've already booked them again to
play at our first wedding anniversary." Elinor and Rob Martell |

"This is to say how
much everyone appreciated the Skelpit Lugs' wonderful contribution to our
daughter Caroline's wedding party. There was no mistaking the huge
enjoyment our guests had from the ceilidh dancing - for many of them it was
the first time but I didn't notice many hanging back ! That
was thanks to the warm, inclusive style of your caller as well as the
toe-tapping irresistibility of your music. Our sincere thanks to
all of you." Juliet McCracken |

"I just wanted to thank you for an absolutely
fantastic ceilidh on Saturday night at the Winnock Hotel, Drymen. You
all did ever so well at organising the dances for the various nationalities
we had among our guests. All the people we spoke to thought the ceilidh
was a major highlight of the day." Phil and Sophie Lamond |

"Skelpit Lug is without doubt the best ceilidh band that we
have ever come across. The guests at our daughter Nicola's wedding
filled the dance floor the entire evening. The staff at the Stirling
County Rugby Club said they had never seen so many people dancing and
enjoying themselves. We won't hesitate to pass your details to others and
wish you every success for the future." Maureen and Harry Black |
